Classic Chevys are most-stolen collector cars

Detroit (AP) - Saturns and Acuras may be the most popular targets for thieves in search of newer vehicles, but four cars from Chevrolet top the most-stolen list for classic rides, a study says. The Chevrolet Corvette, Impala, Bel Air and Camaro were the nation's most-stolen collectible vehicles according to a study by Hagerty Insurance, a leading insurer of collectible cars and motorcycles. The study was done between January and December 2003. Hagerty, based in Traverse City, Mich., says it covers roughly 350,000 of the estimated 800,000 insured collectible vehicles in the United States. A collector car is typically more than 25 years old and driven less than 2,500 miles a year. They include hot rods, muscle cars, vintage pickups and some sports cars. The survey also showed that 44% of collector vehicles were stolen from private homes - more than any other location.   read more

Hot Wheels: Chrysler's 'Poor Man's Bentley'

Cars with four doors and no
four-wheel drive make a comeback

By Keith Naughton - Newsweek

May 31 issue - Once Howard Sucher saw the audacious Chrysler 300 on the Internet, he had to have it. But the Chrysler dealer near his home in Boca Raton, Fla., told him he'd have to wait five months. So Sucher and his wife traveled 180 miles to get a $38,000 satin-jade 300C, the model with a steroidal 340-horsepower Hemi engine. Sherrie Sucher is giddy about a car that "looks like a Bentley" and gives her a break from the hulking family SUV. "I'm tired of driving around with all the drink boxes and diapers," she says. "I'll feel renewed in this car."

It's not all about HTML and Javascript to Jim Argyros. The head of development and production at Dealer Impact is also an amateur bodybuilder. He's training right now for the "Best of the Midwest" competition in October. Jim will compete in the novice medium-tall division. No one is sure if the box of Cocoa Puffs on his desk is part of his training regimen.

www.toyotadm.com
One of our oldest customers has a newly designed website--one that incorporates two new brands into the groups Internet presence. It's "deep," according to developer Jim Argyros, with an extensive number of pages including new maintenace schedule pages for all of their brands: Toyota, Scion and Saab. "They do a great job of branding their dealerships through the Internet," says Jim.
