Inventory is the #1 reason people visit your website and probably always will.
That's why Dealer Impact continues to upgrade the inventory search interface feature
of our web systems.
Consumers are motivated by photos and information-just ask any eBay buyer-and this upgrade
definitely has both. Try 50 photos per listing. Every angle of your inventory is captured for
your visitors to view. A dynamic feature of the search interface is a moving slideshow that
scrolls across a section of the page allowing the viewer to manipulate the presentation by
clicking on a particular thumbnail. More than photos, it gives the viewers what they want-a
complete assessment of each listing.

With over 16,000 cars per day rolling through the intersection where the dealership is located,
Bob Utter Ford has a captive audience__especially when the stoplight turns red. When Bob Utter
pre-owned signed on with Dealer Impact, we placed a banner that advertised their web address in
view of this daily stream of traffic. The results-a 40% increase in the number of visitors to
www.bobutterpreowned.com over the month the banner was posted roadside. Upon its removal,
the number of visitors decreased by 35% the following week. Although many of you are including
your web address in your advertising mediums, this example highlights the power of making your
web address the single focus of an advertising tactic. With more and more people making dealer
websites their first stop in the car buying process, focusing a promotion on your web address
may yield some new results.

A View From Across the Pond
INTERNET CAR BUYING
CARkeys Magazine (United Kingdom)__
JULY 16, 2004
Recent research by Glass's has found that people using the Internet to find dealers and compare
prices are much more likely to shop outside their own local area. While only 30% of non-Internet
users are prepared to travel more than 25 miles to find the right car, the figure among web
shoppers is almost double that.
The most popular use of the Internet by car buyers is to compare prices - that's what 37% of
those in the survey said. Going down the scale, visiting a manufacturer's website comes next,
followed by locating a dealer, comparing car specifications, looking at road tests and (for 15%)
visiting an independent dealer's website...
